Shabby Chic Feminine Tablescape
Living with three boys, I don’t usually have the chance to fully indulge my shabby chic feminine tablescape ideas. My boys would quickly tell me it’s too flowery.
But this tablescape was not set for them. You see, as summer starts flying by with vacations, swim lessons, trips to the beach, and afternoon movie matinees, I start to lose touch with some of my favorite gals. I decided to take an afternoon and catch up with some of my favorite women over a little lunch.
Since it was going to just be the girls I decided to make it a shabby chic feminine tablescape. I started with a painted charger that looks like wood, but is actually plastic. Then I added on some of my Spode transferware plates that used to hang on the wall in our old home. On top of that I put some sweet little flowery plates my parents gifted me years ago.
I pulled out my fancy shmancy leaded crystal vase and created a centerpiece of peonies and Eucalyptus. If you haven’t noticed, I’m having a little love affair with peonies this summer. Sometimes simple is just as pretty as an elaborate centerpiece. The light passing through the crystal was just stunning.
Having a Ladies Lunch doesn’t have to be over the top fancy or something that is difficult to pull together. By using what I had, I pulled this little lunch together in a snap and didn’t spend a cent on new decorations. Take the stress out of it for yourself. After all, we all know the time spent together is more important than what everyone ate off of.
Have I told you I am so in love with peonies? I think this needs to be my screen saver.
This little lunch get together was so fun and really didn’t take a lot of work. Plan one today and serve something simple. I served Caesar salad made from a kit, fruit salad, and little sandwiches. It doesn’t have to be fancy. The point is, get together and have some fun.
I put together a little shopping guide just in case you want to create your own shabby chic feminine tablescape for your convenience (affiliate links used).
